How can International Financial Institutions (IFI) improve involuntary resettlement practices in conflict areas? A team of Sciences Po Masters’ students working on this topic under a team project supervised by the EIB just provided some answers.

IFIs should pay more attention to the local context, choose their partners better, enhance the analysis of the land tenure system and avoid the displacement of already displaced people says the report, building upon cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ukraine and Myanmar. This is the first of two team projects undertaken under the MOU signed between the EIB Group and Sciences Po, France’s leading university for social sciences.
