The EIB Group and Sciences Po, France’s leading university for social sciences, cooperate in the fields of academic research, teaching and vocational training. The EIB is supporting the European Chair for Sustainable Development and Climate Transition launched by Sciences Po in November 2020.

The EIB and Sciences Po work together on topics of common interest such as “the social and solidarity economy”, urban issues, climate change, energy, security and innovation and on emerging issues such as big data and smart cities.

Sciences Po calls regularly on EIB staff to give lectures as part of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Conversely, Sciences Po’s teaching staff and researchers make contributions on specific themes at the EIB, Teresa Ribera and Laurence Tubiana in 2017, Roberto Galbiati in 2020.

Every year, Sciences Po students carry out collective projects or capstones in line with EIB Group requirements. Selected Sciences Po students participate in the EIB Summer School and have opportunities for internships at the EIB Group in Luxembourg.

The EIB is also working with Sciences Po’s CEVIPOF (Centre d’Etudes de la Vie Politique Française), France leading research centre on political life analysis, on the annual EIB climate survey. In 2020 it supported CEVIPOF’s international survey on “Citizens’ Attitudes Under COVID-19 Pandemic.”

Sciences Po is part of CIVICA, an alliance of eight European universities (Hertie School, LSE, Bocconi, EUI,  Central European University, Stockholm School of Economics and National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (Romania)) selected in 2019 by the European Commission as one of the pilot European Universities, funded under the Erasmus+ programme.
