What are the strengths and weaknesses of current indicators for SMEs’ access to debt and equity finance in Europe? Are new SME financing indicators needed and what could they look like? The answers are in a report just completed by a team of five students from the London School of Economics’ Master of Public Administration (MPA) in the framework of a Capstone programme for the European Investment Fund.
For six months, the students closely collaborated with the Research & Market Analysis team of the EIF. The output will be used by EIF for future research and publications.
This is the fifth Capstone project conducted by the EIB Group with the students of the LSE’s MPA Programme. As part of their curriculum, students are required to undertake a consultancy project on a selected topic relevant to a client organisation (a Capstone project). A number of international organisations such as the World Bank, EBRD, OECD and the UK Government are regular participants in the MPA Capstone programme.
