EIB President Werner Hoyer was the keynote speaker of the EIB Group top executives addressing the fifty participants of the first EIB Summer School organised by the Institute’s Knowledge Programme which started today in Luxembourg.

Other speakers included Jean-Christophe Laloux, Director General, EIB’s Head of Operations, Pierre Albouze, EIB’s Deputy Secretary General and Hubert Cottogni and John Holloway for the European Investment Fund.

For five days, staff members from the EIB and EIF will share their expertise about the EIB Group’s role and impact on European and non-European stakeholders in terms of economic and social development and sustainability. The academic programme is accompanied by a cultural programme and networking opportunities.

In the framework of a graduation dinner, students will receive an EIB Summer School certificate.

This first Summer School is a pilot project to test the programme and content for a fully-fledged EIB Summer School that will be launched in 2019 and will target students from EIB partner universities across Europe. Participants have recently graduated from the College of Europe in Bruges and Natolin.
