On 22 November 2018, Francisco de Paula Coelho, Dean of the EIB Institute, will speak at a roundtable during the conference “Cherishing heritage. Quality principles for interventions on cultural heritage”, organised in Venice at Ca’ Foscari University by the European Commission, in cooperation with International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).

The conference aims at promoting the public debate on quality principles in EU funded interventions on cultural heritage. It is a key event of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, organised in the framework of initiative n.6 Cherishing heritage, one of the ten European Initiatives launched by the European Commission on this occasion.

The EIB Institute facilitates the transfer of know-how and experience between different partners and countries in the heritage conservation field through its cooperation with Europa Nostra. Cultural heritage is very important both for regional and touristic development and contributes to maintaining or creating a regional, national and European identity.
