More than 40 social entrepreneurs from 14 countries attended the first Social Innovation Tournament (SIT) alumni meeting held in Copenhagen on 24 October. The meeting took place after the 2018 SIT Final Event held the previous day, which the participants also attended.

It brought together finalists from previous SIT editions and two experts on social entrepreneurship and impact management, Kim van Niekerk (pictured) and Sophie Robin, who ran two training sessions, “How to handle difficult conversations with impact investors” and “Impact measurement and management”.   Alumni also had the chance to listen to a very inspirational talk by Michele Hviid.

The SIT alumni network helps connect all SIT finalists and other selected social entrepreneurs to more opportunities and more resources.  It encourages them to grow and succeed by scaling their impact. Members of the SIT Alumni Network benefit from numerous training opportunities such as a SIT Impact Bootcamp, a full-time executive training course focused on scaling, pitching and engagement with investors. They are also given a chance to join innovation grants programmes, participate in conferences around Europe and network with investors, foundations and venture philanthropists such as EVPA.
