Chiara Bugatti was born in Lecco (Italy) and currently lives and works in Malmö (Sweden). She obtained a BA in Fine and Performing Arts at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts and an MFA at the eminent Umeå Academy of Fine Arts (Sweden), graduating in 2016. Chiara has completed residencies at the Palazzo Monti (Brescia, Italy, 2018) and the Lumen Studio Residency (Italy, 2017), and is currently resident at the prominent Akademie Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart, 2019-2020). She has exhibited in Italy and Sweden, including in a prominent Milanese art gallery and at the Uppsala Konstmuseum (Sweden, 2016), and has participated in shows in Germany and the UK.  She has been awarded numerous grants, including the culture grant for artistic development of Malmö City and Culture Administration (2018) and one from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee Konstnärsnämnden (2018), as well as a grant to be assistant to Katarina Burin at Harvard University in 2016-17.
