The 16th annual conference of the European Microfinance Network started today in Vienna (Austria) on the theme “Connecting for the future”.

The EIB Group (EIB, EIF and EIB Institute) is among the sponsors of the event bringing more than 200 participants from 25 countries to discuss the future development of the microfinance sector, particularly the use of financial technology and artificial intelligence.

The European Microfinance Network (EMN) is a member-based not-for-profit organisation based in Brussels, which promotes microfinance as a tool to fight social and financial exclusion in Europe through self-employment and the creation of microenterprises.
