The University of Padova (Italy) is organising on 10 December 2020 an international workshop on “Italy and the European Investment Bank”.

The workshop is organized by the Institute of Political Science and the Robert Schuman Initiative, University of Luxembourg, in cooperation with the Department of Political Science, Law and International Studies of the University of Padova.

It aims at analysing the role and policy of the EIB in Italy, one of the bank’s founding shareholders, one of its main beneficiary countries and a decisive contributor to the bank’s evolution from an institutional and organizational perspective.

The workshop is the second leg of the conference “Analyzing the European Investment Bank: Interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the past, present and future of the world’s biggest lender”, the first ever academic conference on EIB, held at the University of Luxembourg on 10-11 July 2019 and attended by 25 prominent scholars from top universities in 9 EU countries and the USA.

The organisation of a specific event dedicated to Italy was deemed necessary because of the large number of proposals received on the topic following the Call for Papers for the first Conference issued in 2018.

It will take place remotely due to the Covid-19 measures. Click here for the programme.
