Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, has been selected for an EIBURS research grant on “Firm competitiveness, growth and digitalisation”.

The research will be conducted in partnership with ESADE Barcelona and will run for three years (2021-2023).

This is the first cooperation between the EIB Group and Pompeu Fabra University, a university created in 1990 by the Catalan government and named after the linguist Pompeu Fabra. In 2021, it was ranked the best university in Spain and 10th best young university in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings as well as best university by the U-Ranking of Spanish Universities.

EIBURS research grants provide up to EUR 100 000 per year for three years to research centres working on topics and themes of interest to the Bank’s Group (EIB and EIF). They are managed by the Institute’s Knowledge Programme which fosters relationships with universities and research institutes for the EIB Group. They are awarded through a competitive procedure to university departments or research centres within the EU, EU candidate countries or potential candidate countries.
