Agnieszka Mastalerz, 29, was selected for the Geographic call. She is a Polish artist who graduated from the Studio of Spatial Activities of Mirosław Bałka at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2018. She was also a guest student of Candice Breitz and Eli Cortiñas at Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Brunswick (DAAD scholarship, 2019) and Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin in Hamburg (HFBK, 2017). She uses a poetic visual language to analyse restrictive rules established within intimate relationships, communities, states, companies, or in the natural environment.

She has exhibited in MAXXI – National Museum of 21st Century Art (Rome, 2021), Deichtorhallen (Hamburg, 2018), and the Museum of Modern Art (Warsaw), where she was a laureate of the Hestia Artistic Journey competition (2017). She also completed a residency in Futura Gallery (Prague, 2020). Her works can be found in international public and private collections, including the Fondazione In Between Art Film by Beatrice Bulgari (Italy) and the Ergo Hestia Group (Poland).
