Jošt Franko, 27, was selected for the thematic call “Disruption: The Imprint of Man”. He is a Slovenian visual artist and photographer who has obtained a Masters’ degree from Goldsmiths, University of London. His practice is primarily based in photography, video, installations, collage and text. His work focuses on foreign and domestic social issues through interdisciplinary projects dealing with concealed, overlooked, and invisible topics. He is interested in examining the long-term and in-depth stories of marginalised groups and individuals. Most recently, he has been focusing on the Balkan region. With the help of image-making, he researches the consequences of the break-up of Yugoslavia, the war that has ravaged through the region, and the resulting shifts in political, cultural, and economic realities.
