Today 55 per cent of the world’s population live in cities and towns and the number is growing every day.

The 7th edition of the October Days for Sustainable Development will take the opportunity to draw lessons from the current crisis and provide possible scenarios for the future. It will acknowledge that nothing is set in stone – the paths are for us to choose – but also that there will and can not be a “return to normal” as we know it.

Key actors of the global and local community will discuss the issues at stake, showcasing practical and scientific evidence and the latest findings since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The event is organised in the framework of Network Nature Events and Urban October | UN-Habitat (unhabitat.org).

UN-Habitat works in over 90 countries to promote transformative change in cities and human settlements through knowledge, policy advice, technical assistance and collaborative action. Every October UN-Habitat and partners organize a month of activities, events and discussions on urban sustainability.
