The EIB Institute, together with the EIB and the EIF, invites you to take part in the 25th Microfinance Centre (MFC) Annual Conference — Thriving together — which will be held from 24 to 25 May in Budva, Montenegro.
Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank in a video address, and Nicolas Schmit, European Union Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, will open this silver jubilee conference, together with Brunilda Isaj, MFC Chairwoman, and Katarzyna Pawlak, MFC CEO.
The conference will provide an opportunity to reflect upon the experience accumulated and the lessons learnt before embarking for the next 25 years. In a world faced with significant risks: climate change, technological challenges, uncertain future of work, political conflict, and global insecurity, participants will discuss what role microfinance can play in mitigating these challenges.
More than 500 delegates from 40 countries around the world are expected to attend the 2023 MFC conference, a dynamic platform for initiating and forging relationships among participants and their institutions. Participants include microfinance practitioners, policymakers, experts, investors, IT providers, donors and social finance enthusiasts.
The Microfinance Centre is a social finance network that promotes fairness, inclusion, equality and responsible service. It unites 113 organisations (including 77 microfinance institutions) across 36 countries in Europe, Central Asia and beyond that together deliver responsible microfinance services to almost 2 million low-income clients.
The EIB Institute complements the activities of the European Investment Bank Group (the EIB and EIF) in the area of microfinance supporting the European Microfinance Network Annual Conference, the Microfinance Centre Annual Conference and the European Microfinance Day.
