EIB Group experts are teaming up with the VSE – Prague University of Economics and Business  to launch the first EIB course at this prestigious university.

On Thursday 7 March, Fulceri Bruni Roccia (EIB Institute/pictured) presented the EIB Group to the students during the first of a series of six lectures by EIB Group Staff. This course goes beyond the theory, providing students with both theoretical and practical insights into the expansive world of the EIB Group investments. Lectures will be zooming in on the investment paths, funding and the entire business cycle of project appraisals and financing, with real-world case studies, illustrating practical implementation of sustainability in a financial context.

“We are proud to launch the new pilot course at the VSE, with such a dedicated team of sustainability enthusiasts”, said Shiva Dustdar, Director, Head of the EIB Institute. “Developing thought-leadership and foresight with key academic partners are important elements of the EIBI’s new strategy. In today’s financial landscape, sustainability has emerged as a fundamental aspect of finance and economics curricula. As the EU climate bank, no institution is better placed than the EIB Group to share state of the art experience and expertise in this area with the new generation.”.

Selected students of VSE – Prague University of Economics and Business also attend the EIB Summer School, a programme for graduate students to learn about the core activities and responsibilities of the EIB Group.

Constantly, we are witnessing huge demand on the sustainability experts among our clients and counterparts, both at the public administration, firms and investment industry, explains Andrea Ferjencikova, the EIB Group Representative in Czechia. “We truly hope to enrich VSE students by the practical insights of the EIB group – pioneering EU institution in the field of the green financing and sustainable investments.  We invest in maturing the local talent!”
