Gilad Ashery (31, Jerusalem) is an interdisciplinary young artist who focuses mainly on site specific installation, sculpture and performance.
Ashery has been living and creating in temporary studios in desolated villages. Through these conditions and his past work as an archeologist he finds inspiration in nature, countryside, forests, caves and in the rich (albeit bloody and muddy) human history. This has led him to develop an interest in the temporality of perception, materials and subjects.
Currently Ashery is living and working between Paris, Vienna and Jerusalem and is developing a highly sensual earth oriented body of works.
Ashery was selected for the thematic call for applications – Disruption: The Imprint of Man for which he proposed to further research muddy landscapes and drafts of worlds.
