Elsa Mencagli (Italy, 31) is a multimedia artist who works in sculptural installation, video and performance. She holds a BA from Aarhus School of Architecture (Denmark) and an MFA in Performing Arts from Iceland University of the Arts (Reykjavík). Through practices of attentive listening and attunement to both the body and the environment, her creative work attempts to reveal and make felt what often remains unnoticed. She cultivates diverse modes of encounter that create shifts in perceptions and inter-relations.
For the ADP residency, she has been selected for the Thematic Call, “Margins to Centre / Periphery to Core,” which invites artists to meditate upon the societal and geographic interpretations of margins and peripheries, and to tackle diversity and inclusion.
