The EIB Institute and IE University are partnering together to provide three scholarships on the Data Science and Visualization for Business online programme

Description

Professionals from all sectors are identifying, analysing, preparing and leveraging data to make smarter decisions on a daily basis. In this course, participants discover the basics of data science through data insights and visualisation. Gain real-time guidance, feedback and professional insights from professors and experts from Google, Amadeus and McKinsey. With their help, students apply statistical concepts underlying data analytics to create meaningful displays that improve decision-making.

 

How to validate your business ideas fast & effectively?

The aim of this workshop is to teach the participants the do’s and don’ts of validating new business ideas, in order to prevent false positives and spend time, energy and resources on promising solutions.

At the end of the workshop, you will have:

  • Learned/experienced how to collaborate online
  • Gained insights into the topic and how to practically apply it to your own context.

A Tour of Modern Fundraising: Strategy and Planning

This two-day course was designed especially for organisations with a social mission, who wish to deepen knowledge about fundraising. Based on concrete examples of third sector organisations, leaders in Europe, various forms of fundraising and their main advantages and disadvantages were analysed. The aim was to present the current reality, identify the best sources of information, and address how social organisations can inspire different audiences and patrons, giving prominence to the main benefits associated with fundraising.

The training on Modern Fundraising was promoted together with IRIS, with the support of Atmosfera M Porto – Associação Mutualista Montepio. The training took place in May 2019 in Porto.

The trainer was Kim van Niekerk.

Powerful Marketing Messages

This training showed entrepreneurs why their messages lose impact – what they post on their websites, promotional materials, and emails. It helped participants become editors of their own work by identifying language that does not work for their organisation and finding ways to replace it with a high-impact language that helps people clearly understand the mission of the project, and to be motivated to want to contribute.

Participants were also able to assess how the fonts, images, and layouts impact their audiences. They started writing new messages during the session that they were able to take with them and use online, on social networks and other materials they publish regarding their ventures.

Digital Marketing

The Digital Marketing training consisted of two sequential and complementary days of teamwork, with the aim of providing organisations with the concepts and tools essential for the development of tactics and digital marketing actions to promote their activity.
