The Trophy

The idea behind designing the EIB Institute award was to create a trophy not only meant as a memento to remind the winner of the tournament but also as the next “challenge” with which the winner is faced in life.

“WE DON‘T GROW WHEN THINGS ARE EASY; WE GROW WHEN WE FACE CHALLENGES.”

The designer chose clear plexiglass for the tablet-shaped trophy, representing disruptive innovation and technology. It is mounted on a base evoking a traditional labyrinth puzzle box, but also representing the instability and dynamism of the innovative/creative process.

“BOOKS GIVE A SOUL TO THE UNIVERSE, WINGS TO THE MIND, FLIGHT TO THE IMAGINATION, AND LIFE TO EVERYTHING.”

Special thanks to Prof. Miha Klinar who coordinated the process and to all the participating students at Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana:
