SOIL STEAM INTERNATIONAL
Treating farmland with steam instead of toxic pesticides is a key disruptive technology and is on track to reach EU and UN ambitions for sustainable production and environmental protection. The current state-of-the-art solutions are either the use of traditional pesticides (4 million tonnes annually) or sheet steaming machines.
The SoilSteam machine is 12 tonnes, 4 m wide and 12 m long, and is five times faster and consumes less energy than current state-of-the-art systems. The SoilSteam system has proven it can replace the use of pesticides to eliminate weeds, fungi and nematodes without use of chemicals.
