Women (including girls) experience business-related human rights abuses in unique ways and are often affected disproportionately. They also face multiple forms of discrimination and are often not considered in local consultations with impacted communities. With this in mind, the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights launched a thematic project in 2017 to unpack the gender dimension of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. In this webinar, we will provide practical recommendations for what it means to “protect, respect and remedy” the rights of women in a business context, in line with the report of the UN Working Group. We will be joined by Sandra Di Moise, Managing Partner at AIC Capital and former CEO of financial institutions who will share her testimony and leverage the discussion on how corporate action can have a positive impact on gender equality.
