The 22nd Microfinance Centre Annual Conference sponsored by the EIB Group started today in Istanbul with several pre-conference events.
Participants gathered for pre-conference workshops such as “Digital Marketing Made Easy” on how to effectively strategise and develop a digital presence for microfinance institutions.
The overall topic of the conference 2019 is “Demystifying digital in microfinance” and the event will be introduced by Francisco de Paula Coelho, Dean of the EIB Institute, and Lucija Popovska, Chairwoman of the Microfinance Centre.
The keynote speaker will be Tim Ogden, managing director of the Financial Access Initiative, a research centre based at New-York University-Wagner that focuses on how financial services can better meet the needs and improve the lives of poor households around the world.
The Microfinance Centre is a social finance network that promotes fairness, inclusion, equality and responsible service. It unites 113 organisations (including 77 Microfinance Institutions) across 36 countries of Europe, Central Asia and beyond, who together deliver responsible microfinance services to over one million low-income clients.
