In this new episode of our series about the 15 inspiring finalists of the Social Innovation Tournament 2020, learn how Hera, a smartphone app, enables Syrian refugee women and children in Turkey to access medical services.

Hera enables users to carry their medical records with them on their smartphone and aims to expand the reach of prenatal care and childhood vaccinations. About 1 000 women currently use the app, which is available in Arabic, Turkish and English. This number should increase to 10 000 women this year and more in 2022 as Hera’s promoters hope to partner with the Turkish Ministry of Health. Hera won the €10 000 audience award at the EIB Institute’s 2020 SIT.
