Droughts, floods, wildfires and heavy storms… due to climate change, extreme weather events are on the rise around the globe. Being prepared and knowing how to act in the right way and help others can save lives and limit damage.
The EIB Institute, in collaboration with the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre, is organising the first European conference on community disaster preparedness. It will be held at the European Investment Bank headquarters in Luxembourg and online, on 27 October from 9:30 a.m. to 6.15 p.m.
EIB President Werner Hoyer and Luxembourg Minister of Home Affairs Taina Bofferding will open the conference which will address preparedness for natural disasters in Europe and in Luxembourg as well as best practices from across the globe and disaster preparedness financing. See the agenda here.
