Do you want to preserve and protect Europe’s cultural heritage? You have until 5 September to vote for this year’s Public Choice Award at the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2021, the EU prize for cultural heritage funded by the Creative Europe programme!
From Brussels Gare Maritime or Gjirokastra Foundation (Albania) to Artificial Intelligence applied to preventive conservation in Spain, select the project you like best among the 24 exemplary achievements from 18 European countries* in four categories: conservation, research, dedicated service and education, training and awareness raising distinguished just two weeks ago on 25 May, by the European Commission and Europa Nostra.
The Europa Nostra Awards were set up in 1978 to recognise outstanding heritage conservation initiatives. The Awards were presented to some 650 exemplary projects until 2001, giving inspiration across Europe through the power of their example. Since 2013, the Institute has been partnering with Europa Nostra under the 7 Most Endangered Programme (7ME) to identify monuments and sites under acute danger of neglect or destruction. Cultural heritage contributes to maintaining or creating a regional, national and European identity as explained by Hermann Parzinger, Europa Nostra President, in his essay “Togetherness” published by the EIB in November 2020.
