On November 29, from 15:00 to 17:30 PM, the Sciences Po European Chair for Sustainable Development and Climate Transition, supported by the EIB through the EIB Institute, is organizing its first conference on the theme “How to organize trade-offs to conserve biodiversity and advance development equity?” with the participation of EIB Vice-President Ambroise Fayolle in charge of climate.
In this conference, practitioners and experts will speak to us on ‘what can be done?’ to face the crises of the environment around the planet, specifically of climate change and the extinction of a multitude of life forms. Added to the mix is the deepening of economic inequality across the world, between countries and within societies, failing and flailing states.
Experts will communicate the challenges that need to be overcome at local, national and regional levels. They will inform us of the partnerships, even unlikely ones, urgently needed to realize a more humane, just and sustainable world.
Shiv Someshwar, Chairholder European Chair for Sustainable Development and Climate Transition at Sciences Po and Jos Delbeke, EIB Chair on Climate Change Policy and International Carbon Markets at the European University Institute, Florence will also be speaking at the event, held in a hybrid format at Sciences Po Paris and online via Zoom.
