With new EIB lectures delivered at three major universities, the Université euro-méditerranéenne de Fès (Morocco), Amman’s Jordan University and Cairo’s Ain Shams University, the Institute is extending its activities on the other bank of the Mediterranean.
Building upon a partnership signed in 2022 with the Union for the Mediterranean, these lectures aim to present the EU’s development policy as well as the EIB and its missions in the EU’s Southern Neighbourhood.
The first lectures attracted university staff as well as groups of 60 to 90 students and raised a great interest.
The Institute organises and coordinates courses provided by EIB Group staff on the EIB’s Group role, missions and activities. Specific courses may be provided on project finance, inclusive finance, climate activities and business cycle.
With close to 400 lectures delivered to date, some 100 EIB Group staff members have become part of the EIBI’s faculty transferring their knowledge to students who have the potential to become in the future colleagues, clients or stakeholders.
In 2023, in addition to Amman and Cairo, new courses have already been launched at the Montpellier Business School and at The Hague University.
