The 2024 edition of the Certificate in Law and Regulation of Inclusive Finance wrapped up on 25 January with 27 participants from 17 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe completing the two-week course organised by the University of Luxembourg’s Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance and Appui au Développement Autonome (ADA) and supported by the Institute.
“It was a good cross learning experience”, said Pankaja Borah from India. “I loved it, many diverse backgrounds to exchange with” added Tshering Euden from Bhutan. “It was a good opportunity for networking and partnership building”, completed Martin Kandomanong Sasu, from Ghana.
This eight edition of the Certificate was further supported by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It offered classes on regulatory supervision, law and ethics, investment vehicles and banking law, enabling an exchange between scholars, regulators and financial intermediaries, facilitating academic and non-academic cooperation. EIB Group staff teach courses on inclusive finance, microfinance at the EIB, banking law and impact measurement.
Since the first edition in 2017, close to 180 professionals from central banks, regulators, the private sector or academia from over 50 countries have benefited from the programme.
