This 8th lecture of the series “Inequality and?” by Dr Ana Llena-Nozal (OECD) focuses on non-standard work, defined as not full-time employment with an open-ended contract.
Since the beginning of the crisis non-standard work has been developing in OECD countries: today non-standard workers represent one third of the workforce and non-standard work accounts for 60% of job creation. According to the OECD study non-standard workers living alone or with other non-standard workers suffer from higher chances of low income and poverty. Non-standard workers also receive less training and are facing a higher job insecurity.
