The 2021 edition of the SAVE Tour dedicated to sustainability and financial education is going virtual!
On Tuesday, 19 January, students and teachers of all school years will participate in the #SAVEsCOOL launch event, an interactive live stream in which it will be possible to talk about environmental and economic sustainability with famous Italian influencers Marcello Ascani, Eleonora Olivieri and Riccardo Aldighieri, who have millions of social media followers on TikTok and YouTube.
The educational project, created by Intesa Sanpaolo’s Museo del Risparmio di Torino in collaboration with the EIB Institute, is a fun virtual course aimed at raising young people’s awareness of the conscious use of financial and environmental resources, the circular economy and social inclusion, in line with the European Agenda 2030. It also takes into account the COVID-19 pandemic, which cut short the 2020 SAVE (Sustainability, Awareness, Voyage, Experience) Tour after an interactive bus had visited 17 cities in five regions of Italy, reaching 4 550 students and teachers from 87 schools.
The free-of-charge project proposes educational workshops and apps for primary and secondary school children. The activities can be done in the classroom or online, with different content for each age group. The teachers of Teach for Italy – which is part of the international Teach for All network present in 59 countries – will immediately start running the activities, providing the contents of the project to 20 classes across Italy.
All interested teachers can sign up via http://www.savetour.it/iscriviti/. Materials will be provided and webinar meetings will be organised to help teachers plan the activities. All materials will be available in Italian and English, so that students outside Italy can also participate in the courses. Click here for the press release. The project is one of the Institute’s financial education initiatives.
